Document Management Systems (DMS)
Glennon Consulting Group can install a Document Management Systen (DMS) for you. With a DMS you can
manage the myriad of documents created by your company. Those documents can be Microsoft Word files,
PDF Files, Power Point Presentations; any document or file that's important to your business.
The Ektron DMS creates a central repository for storing all of
those files. It also allows you to manage the complete history of the document. Everytime it is
modified and saved back to the DMS, a new "version" is created. You can return to a
previous version of a document at any time. It allows for enhanced collaboration on documents, and
for approval of online published documents.
For example, if there is a PDF file that you have available on your website you can create an
approval process and history tracking for that file so that only the correct, and approved version
ends up available to your viewing public. And you can decide at any time to "roll back" to a previous
version of the PDF File at any time. History tracking not only helps you to know who made changes to
certain files, but also may help to maintain compliance, for certain businesses, by keeping a record
of changes.
Because all of these documents are stored in a central repository the Ektron DMS is able to search
through all of the documents helping you and your users find the information that they need quicker.
You can search information about the document or the document itself. You can even
create different versions of the document for different languages, allowing you to more easily
track and deploy globalized information.
The DMS is currently integrated with the Ektron CMS, so one package provides a full Enterprise Content
Management Suite -- at a fraction of the cost of other Enterprise Content Management Sytems.
